Livingstone is pleased to announce Meise Möbel GmbH & Co. KG’s (“Meise Möbel” or “the Company”) successful sale to serial-entrepreneur Mr. Klaus Bellingroth as part of a business succession solution. The terms of the transaction are undisclosed.

Founded in 1992 by Dieter Meise and based in Kirchlengern, Meise Möbel generated sales of around EUR 30m last year. The Company specializes in the design, development, and manufacture of high-quality, timeless, modern beds. Known for setting new trends, Meise Möbel experiments with new materials, balancing timeless designs with a high level of health awareness and sleeping comfort.

The Company’s versatile product portfolio includes a wide range of fabric, imitation leather, and upholstered beds in various bed sizes with different entry heights and box spring beds, composed of the elements bottom box, mattress, and topper. The product portfolio also includes Swarovski beds, decorated with individual rhinestones or entire rhinestone bands according to the customer’s wishes.

Dieter Meise has identified a partner in a long-term oriented entrepreneur to continue his business in a structured sales process supported by Livingstone. Even though the ownership is changing, there will be no changes in the management. Gunhild Vocke will continue her position as Administrator, while Uwe Menzel stays on as Head of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Meise will remain with the bed specialist in an advisory capacity for the year 2021.

Dieter Meise, founder and former owner of Meise Möbel, says: “After many successful years, I am now pleased to be able to hand over the Company reigns to experienced entrepreneur Klaus Bellingroth. The execution of the sales process was decisive, thanks to Livingstone.”

Mr. Klaus Bellingroth adds: “The products of Meise Möbel are characterized by high-quality as well as a high recognition brand value in the market. Furthermore, the Company has developed very well in the past years. I am looking forward to working together with the employees and to the new challenge of accompanying Meise Möbel in the future.”

“We are very pleased that Mr. Meise has placed his trust in Livingstone and that we were able to support the Company in an advisory capacity in this transaction. We are pleased to have found an entrepreneur in Mr. Bellingroth who will continue to lead the Company sustainably in the future. The entire process has been a pleasure, and we would like to thank everyone involved for the trust they have placed in us,” said Dr. André Schröer, Partner at Livingstone in Düsseldorf.

This transaction underlines Livingstone’s expertise in the furniture industry once more. In addition to Meise Möbel, Livingstone’s Düsseldorf team has advised on the sale of SIEMATIC to Nison, the sale of interlübke to private investors and subsequently to SCHRAMM, and the sale of Loddenkemper/femira to Wiemann, among others.
