Stephen Miles
- Managing Partner
- Chicago
In 2007, Steve co-founded and is the Managing Partner of Livingstone’s US operations. In the US, Steve drives Livingstone’s strategic growth initiatives, including business development, recruitment, and client relations. Over the last decade, Livingstone has rapidly grown into an international mid-market M&A and debt advisory firm with 85 professionals, offices in 6 countries, and recently climbed the ranks to be named one of the most active banks in the mid-market by Mergers & Acquisitions.
In addition to his responsibilities as Managing Partner, Steve serves on the company’s board of directors, acting as Board Chairman since 2016. In this role, he has overseen many of the company’s most ambitious strategic global growth initiatives as well as the hiring of key senior leaders and the expansion of the firm.
Steve has 25 years of experience as an advisor, having successfully advised on 100+ transactions. When leading engagements, he draws on his years of experience successfully advising mid-market companies on M&A transactions, financial restructurings, and debt and equity raises. Moreover, his experiences as a business owner and entrepreneur inform his perspective, providing greater insight into the unique challenges of running and selling a business. Consequently, he brings deep understanding and clarity when tailoring custom recommendations for clients.
Prior to Livingstone, Steve was a Managing Director at M&A firm Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. and Lazard, where he honed his skills advising mid-market companies.
An avid believer in equanimity, Steve sits on the board for BUILD (Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development), one of Chicago’s leading gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organizations. Steve enthusiastically raises funds for the nationally respected organization.
