Livingstone has advised the shareholders of customer relationship management specialists, Careline, on its sale to Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd, an Indian based provider of outsourced customer management solutions. The sale of Careline represents Livingstone’s second deal in the sector in a month, having announced the sale of Dataforce Interact, part of Twenty plc, to Hands-On Ventures LLC, an Indian based BPO business in May 2010.
Careline is a UK-based customer management company providing services to more than 20 marquee customers across verticals such as government, FMCG, financial services, automotive, telecommunications and retail. Established in 1997, it offers a range of customer and prospect management services and has over 1,000 highly trained employees across three sites in the U.K. – one in London and two in Scotland. On behalf of its clients t handles in excess of 50,000 customer interactions every day across multiple channels and in 14 languages.
Careline is a top ten player in the UK contact centre market and is HGSL’s first acquisition in Europe. The acquisition will act as a launch pad for HGSL to enter the UK and European customer management market and will provide Careline’s clients with access to HGSL’s global service delivery network..
Livingstone recognised the strong strategic synergies shared by HGSL and Careline and the potential benefits to be gained from the acquisition. A deal was agreed and the parties worked to completion in June 2010. The Careline management team, which has been stable since the company was founded in 1997, remains in place. Charles Cooper Driver, co-founder of Careline will remain as CEO and become part of the HGSL management team.
