Livingstone has advised the shareholders of customer relationship management specialists, Careline, on its sale to Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd, an Indian based provider of outsourced customer management solutions. The sale of Careline represents Livingstone’s second deal in the sector in a month, having announced the sale of Dataforce Interact, part of Twenty plc, to Hands-On Ventures LLC, an Indian based BPO business in May 2010.

Careline is a UK-based customer management company providing services to more than 20 marquee customers across verticals such as government, FMCG, financial services, automotive, telecommunications and retail. On behalf of its clients t handles in excess of 50,000 customer interactions every day across multiple channels and in 14 languages.

Careline is a top ten player in the UK contact centre market and is HGSL’s first acquisition in Europe. The acquisition will act as a launch pad for HGSL to enter the UK and European customer management market and will provide Careline’s clients with access to HGSL’s global service delivery network..

Livingstone recognised the strong strategic synergies shared by HGSL and Careline and the potential benefits to be gained from the acquisition. A deal was agreed and the parties worked to completion in June 2010. The Careline management team, which has been stable since the company was founded in 1997, remains in place. Charles Cooper Driver, co-founder of Careline will remain as CEO and become part of the HGSL management team.

“We are delighted to have completed two successful sales of UK customer management providers to Indian-based global operators in such a short timescale” comments James Lever, Partner at Livingstone, “Careline is one of the leading independent players in its sector and we believe the company and its clients will benefit significantly from the deal and from access to HGSL’s global delivery model.”

“Livingstone identified the right partner at the right time and helped facilitate the deal, we are delighted to have worked with them during this process,” says Charles Cooper-Driver, CEO of Careline.
