Austrian-based Hirtenberger Group acquires Janke GmbH

Livingstone Düsseldorf’s Industrial sector team has advised the insolvency administrator Dr. Marc d’Avoine at law firm ATN d’Avoine Teubler Neu on the sale of engineering specialist Janke GmbH to the strategic investor Hirtenberger Group.

“With the acquisition by Hirtenberger, we have secured employment for the entire workforce of Janke. At the same time, we have found an investor which will steer the company back to a stable footing”, says Dr. Marc d’Avoine. Janke is a leading producer of special automation solutions for foundries and related operations.

The company designs entire machining centers for castings and develops related robot-based solutions. In July 2014, the administrator appointed Livingstone to manage a sale process. A major challenge was the need to conclude the sale in a very short timeframe. The whole process was completed in four weeks.
