B&B TOOLS acquires Arbesko, the leading Nordic brand for professional safety and work footwear. Arbesko will continue to operate as an independent product company within B&B TOOLS, in line with the Group’s philosophy on decentralised business responsibility.
Livingstone advised Arbesko Gruppen AB on the sale of all shares to Bergman & Beving, an operating segment in the B&B TOOLS Group. Arbesko is a successful family company founded in 1839 with its own research, product development and production operations for safety and work footwear for professionals. The company has annual revenues of some SEK 200 million and around 120 employees.
Arbesko’s products are manufactured in Sweden’s only shoe factory, Age Skofabrik outside Örebro, and sold in close cooperation with several of the Nordic region’s leading construction and industrial resellers. The brand is today established in several European markets and is the leading brand in its segment in the Nordic region.
B&B TOOLS was founded in 1906 and is the largest supplier of industrial consumables, industrial components and related service for the industrial and construction sectors in the Nordics. Its main geographic markets are Sweden, Norway and Finland. The Group has 2,700 employees in 12 countries and annual revenue of some SEK 8 billion.
“With its clear focus on premium brands, Bergman & Beving was the natural choice when it came to finding a new owner to develop Arbesko in the future. Tomorrow’s market will require the resources for continuous development, which Bergman & Beving offers. We at Arbesko look forward to continuing our positive, long-term development together with our customers and resellers – and with a new, strong owner who shares our values and goals,” says Peter Geisler, Managing Director and owner of Arbesko Gruppen.
“We are very happy with the performance of Livingstone’s team on this sale. The necessary preparations are extensive both before and during this kind of process and Livingstone has provided important support throughout this transaction,” says Peter Geisler.
“Arbesko is an incredibly well-kept and successful company with a beautiful history, which makes it all the more fun that we’ve negotiated with a buyer that not only fosters premium brands, but in addition intends to operate the company independently with decentralised business responsibility. B&B TOOLS constitutes a promising platform for further development of Arbesko that otherwise would not have been possible,” says Daniel Ohlsson, Director at Livingstone.
