Livingstone has initiated a transaction between the shareholders of NOVA TEMPORA Uhren und Schmuck GmbH watch brands DUGENA and B. Junge & Söhne and the shareholders of German watch brand Laco Uhrenmanufaktur and wholesaler Flume Technik.

Founded in 1917, the Company was formed when experienced watchmakers and watch dealers joined forces to form the Deutsche Uhrmacher- Genossenschaft Alpina (DUGENA) to sell high-quality watches.

Following the founding, brands including Tresor, Tropicia, and Festa were added to the roster. The Company focused on fashionable watches with an excellent price-quality ratio.

In the late 1980s, Hong Kong-based Egana Goldpfeil Holding AG acquired all ownership rights to DUGENA and continued to operate it as an independent brand until 2009, when NOVA TEMPORA Uhren und Schmuck GmbH took it over in the wake of Egana Goldpfeil’s demise.

Today, in addition to a high-quality quartz range, mechanical watches are also produced under the DUGENA Premium Mechanik line. They are assembled, mounted, and regulated in the Company’s watch workshop in Meisenheim.

In the future, Dugena will thus join Laco Uhrenmanufaktur and Flume Technik as part of a family of German watchmaking brands that will continue to grow through additional acquisitions.

Dr. André Schröer, Partner at Livingstone, Düsseldorf, commented, “We are pleased we were able to find a new shareholder for Nova Tempora GmbH, despite the current difficult market conditions for corporate transactions due to the Corona pandemic. The buyer values this very profitable Company, viewing it as a foundation for its buy and build strategy and would like to sustainably develop its commitment in the watch and jewelry sector with it.”
