Livingstone looks south to build Adviser team

  • mar. 2007

Corporate finance boutique Livingstone has added entrepreneur Nigel
Tipple to its team of industry advisers with a mandate to
concentrate on clients and deals in the South of England.

The firm, recently voted Boutique of the Year at the 2006 Private
Equity Awards, has developed a panel of 10 industry advisers, all
of them seasoned operational managers with specific sector
experience, that work closely with Livingstone’s London-based
corporate finance team of 23.

Livingstone partner Jeremy Furniss commented, “All of
our industry advisers bring a wealth of operational experience and
senior level contacts to our clients’ transactions. Uniquely,
Nigel has significant experience both of running companies as well
as corporate finance. He is already generating interesting
opportunities and we are delighted to welcome him to

Tipple graduated from Oxford University in 1978 having studied PPE.
He spent the first 11 years of his career working in the City, both
as a shipbroker and corporate financier with leading merchant bank,
Samuel Montagu.

In 1989, he formed and led a management buy-in of a leading caravan
manufacturing company based on the South Coast. After exiting this
business in 1995, Nigel was invited to restructure a packaging
company that was in financial difficulties. He duly completed a
successful turnaround of the company, which was sold in 1998.

Since that time, he has managed several other packaging companies
and has acted as a non-executive director of a medical equipment
company and as Chairman of an AIM-listed technology business.

Tipple commented, “I am delighted to be working with
Livingstone. They are the most impressive firm of M&A and
private equity advisers operating in the £5m to £100m
deal range in the UK today. We believe that there are many really
good companies operating in the region and that with our experience
and expertise, we are able to offer a full range of corporate
advice, whether it be to management teams seeking to complete a
MBO, company sales, acquisitions or later stage capital raising”.
