Livingstone has advised the Amadys Group, a Belgian portfolio company of Equistone Partners Europe, on the add-on acquisition of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH. With the acquisition, the Amadys Group is not only expanding its high-quality portfolio but also expanding its market presence and reach in Germany. Terms of the transaction are undisclosed.

Headquartered in Brussels, Amadys is a leading system integrator of end-to-end connectivity solutions for the telecom, infrastructure, energy, and data center markets. The group of companies is active in the Benelux countries, Germany, Denmark, Austria, and Slovakia, and generates an annual turnover of more than 275 million euros. The Amadys Group is a leading provider of solutions in the field of passive network components for utility infrastructure and offers a wide range of products – with a focus on telecommunications, water, gas, and electricity – as well as industrial applications. Funds advised by Equistone took over the Amadys Group together with the management in December 2019 and have been supporting a successful European buy-and-build strategy ever since.

PRO-Kunststoff GmbH was founded in Rüsselsheim in 1985 as a dealer for plastic components in infrastructure and industrial construction. Today, the focus of the company and its more than 20 employees is on all products “from the POP to the house connection” in the rapidly growing market for broadband infrastructure. As an established German logistics partner for network operators and construction companies, PRO-Kunststoff GmbH offers its customers a wide range of innovative quality products such as microducts, microcables, shafts, and house connections. With around 6,500 square meters of storage space, PRO-Kunststoff GmbH also guarantees optimal material storage in order to be able to achieve fast delivery times.

The takeover of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH is another important step for the rapidly growing Amadys Group in the implementation of its growth strategy. The transaction enables the reach in the DACH region to be increased and the ability as a one-stop-shop provider with more than 300 employees to further improve market coverage and delivery capability.

“The acquisition of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH is an excellent addition to the competencies and business areas of the companies Muth GmbH and tso GmbH, which already belong to the Amadys Group,” says Arthur Graevendiek, Managing Director of Amadys Germany and continued, “We are particularly pleased that we can offer our German customers know-how and experience in supporting construction companies in FTTH expansion. We are thus further expanding our portfolio as a system provider on the German market.”

“By completing this transaction, Amadys not only gains a strategic and central location in Germany but also supplements the product range and customer portfolio in the DACH region. In the last few months, the Amadys Group has grown into a leading end-to-end system integrator and strategically important partner for fiber optic infrastructure expansion in Germany and Austria. We are very pleased that we were once again able to support Amadys and Equistone in this attractive investment,” added Johannes Faber, Partner at Livingstone Düsseldorf.

Hein Wilderjans, CEO of Amadys Group, stated, “I would like to extend a warm welcome to the entire PRO-Kunststoff team and thank Messrs. Helfrich and Maier-Rebenich for the confidence they have shown in joining the Amadys Group. Special thanks also go to the Livingstone sector team for their very professional support, which has enabled us to implement our growth strategy in the DACH region in an excellent way.”

The acquisition of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH by Amadys is the 15th transaction the Livingstone sector team has completed, including tsoSKG, and muth. Additionally, this is the fourth acquisition on which Livingstone has advised Amadys.
