The Media & Technology team at Livingstone, has concluded a growth re-capitalisation of Dublin-based Digiweb by a group of Irish investors led by serial entrepreneur Brian Kelly.
Digiweb is Ireland’s leading independent telecoms company. Founded in 1997 by entrepreneur Colm Piercy, the Dublin-based group is a full-service national communications and managed services provider with revenues of circa €40m. It provides nationwide broadband access, enterprise data networks, data centre and web hosting services, managed services and telephony to residential, business and public sector customers.
Following a busy two year period during which Digiweb acquired TalkTalk Ireland and SMART Telecom, owner of Dublin’s principal optical fibre infrastructure, the group appointed Livingstone to streamline its capital structure and introduce a new investor capable of supporting management’s ambitious growth plans.
Simon Cope-Thompson, Partner at Livingstone London commented: “We are delighted to have helped Digiweb take the next step on its exciting growth path. The Irish market continues to offer high quality opportunities for experienced investors. This transaction is a perfect example of Livingstone’s multi-disciplinary capabilities working internationally.”
Livingstone brought together members of the firm’s Debt Advisory and Media & Technology sector teams to deliver a seamless advisory solution to Digiweb. The fund-raising follows several recent deals completed by Livingstone’s Media & Technology team, including the sales of healthcare software provider Simcyp and Cloud-based IT services provider, Quantix.
