Livingstone Identifies a Strategic Buyer for Denion
February 2011
Livingstone Partners’ business services team has advised the shareholders of Denion Control y Sistemas (“Denion”) in the sale of the company to Spanish industrial group Abantia Empresarial (“Abantia”).
Denion is a leading provider of services focused on electricity, automation, control systems and flexible manufacturing for industrial projects and facilities, with sales of €20m in 2010.
Headquartered in Cornellá (Barcelona) and created in 1988, Denion has three offices in Spain -Tarragona, Zaragoza and Puertollano- and a subsidiary in Mexico, Dumez Copisa. Through its subsidiary, Denion provides services to the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (Federal Commission of Electricity) and to Pemex among others.
Abantia is a well-established group settled in Sant Boi (Barcelona), specialising in applied engineering, planning, development and implementation of complex systems. With sales over €250m, the group, previously called AGE (Aplicaciones Generales Eléctricas) when it was created in 1944, is one of the Spanish market leaders of facilities and industrial maintenance.
Denion’s services portfolio and geographical coverage (particularly in Mexico and Tarragona) were key factors for Abantia when considering Livingstone’s approach. The transaction fits perfectly into Abantia’s growth plan.
